Stephen is the son of one of the founders of the Sunderland office, UHY Torgersens; he qualified in London in 1972 and returned home to Sunderland in 1973 to join the new partnership and look after the audit of some large new clients.
Stephen has significant experience with co-operative enterprises including co-operative housing associations and with the agricultural industry, farming and horticulture. A lifelong interest in gadgets and things means he has been involved with computers since the mid-70's and is still responsible for the firm's IT installations.
